Casa Ruben Foundation has been serving the needs of the community throughout its mission and beliefs. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted low-income, underserved and ethnic minority families. For racial and ethnic minorities, the lack of access to COVID-19 testing, vaccines, and even prevention messages from their trusted providers as well as other routine medical services was exacerbated by pandemic restrictions.
During the pandemic, community practices were forced to close their doors and later, as a safety precaution, open with limited access. Black and brown individuals went to emergency rooms and urgent care clinics and other settings for covid-19 testing to be turned away for fear of contagion, then, they could not get access to the vaccines. Many lost their trust in health care organizations and systems of care.
In the past 2 years Casa Ruben has done:
Since the vaccines were approved, we have been working to administer the doses to both adults and children.
We were able to provide health to the community during and before the COVID-19 pandemic.
.
We organized community events to inform and help the community in different events.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
